Walt made his way up to the Bridge of the USS Unification after his brother's shuttle had departed. He looked around for a moment, taking everything in, quickly noting where each position was assigned, then he walked over to the Captain’s Ready Room door to check in.
"Come in" He replied to the chime. The door opened, revealing the brother of an officer who had to leave under some unusual circumstances. "Please, have a seat." he pointed to the chair in front of his desk.
Walt gave a respectful nod, "Thank you sir." Walt stepped over the chair, took a seat, and straightened his uniform. He was a little surprised, pleasantly so, that his new CO didn't seem as formal as the last. He glanced around the room, then fixed his eyes back to Lambert and waited for him to begin.
"So, firstly I have no idea what happened between you and your brother, all I know is that the order came from up top. I'm not the kind of person to ask questions, so welcome aboard." He said.
Walt nodded, "Thank you sir. We're not sure who pushed through his transfer to DS6 so suddenly, or my transfer here, but now that I am here I will do my duty to the best of my ability."
"Well it is strange that you have no idea why you ended here, but good to know Lieutenant. How are you finding it so far, given the short time you have been on board?" Jacob asked the officer.
"Very well." He replied. "I've already starting looking over the department’s personnel, we seem a little short staffed but we’ll make things work Sir."
"From what I have read in your record, you will have no issues making it work. Is there anything you will need, apart from more officers, to help this transition?" Jacob asked.
Walt paused for a moment, then replied. "No Sir, not at this time." He wasn't sure if he should stand, wait for the Captain to stand first, or just sit there...so he glanced around the room one more time before fixing his eyes back onto the Captain.
"Would you care for a drink Lieutenant?" He asked as he tapped a button on his desk. There was a micro-replicator on the corner of the desk, which was designed just for drinks.
"Uh, no sir, thank you." Walt replied. "Actually sir, I'd like to get to work if there is nothing else." He wasn't trying to be rude, but with having just come board he wanted to see what he was working with in regards to the ship and crew.
"Very Well Lieutenant." He took a sip of his newly replicated tea. "Dismissed. And welcome aboard."
Walt stood, "Thank you Sir." He nodded to the Captain and left the office.
