Mission: Episode 4 - Parallels
Location: Bajor
Timeline: Day 0 - 0700

As the sun rose over the small farmstead on Bajor, a single figure stood by a field of fruits and vegetables which he had planted himself. His sister, who was residing with him, was already preparing breakfast, but the field had to be checked. Vulcan's were, if nothing else, creatures of habit, and Savok was no exception.

As he checked one of the crops, he knew the rest would be the same. He had ensured they all had the same, consistent level of care and attention. He was meticulous, and for his work, that would always suffice.

As he entered the house, he saw T'kella, and did something very un-Vulcan like. He smiled at her, and she, in the same manner, smiled back. "Good morning." Savok said.

"Isn't it just?" T'kella asked. "I can see why you favour this place so much." She added. She had only been there for a couple of weeks, but she had fallen in love with the perfection of his domain. "I have prepared a continental breakfast for you this morning, and you have three appointments today, one with the Bajoran Minister of Agriculture, who wishes to thank you for your updates, and to speak with you regarding the new soil samples, one with Vedek Arina, who wishes to discuss a potential appearance at a banquet in your honour for the generous gift you gave the Vedek Assembly and the Bajoran's Children Fund, and one from a Lieutenant Emily White from Deep Space 9, who wishes to meet with you about several spatial phenomena found in the Gamma Quadrant." T'kella said. She had been acting as his assistant, and had been doing an excellent job. So far, everything was proceeding as any other day.

Savok nodded, and picked up his tea. "I shall have breakfast, and start with meeting Lt. White. Meanwhile, please inform Vedek Arina that I will be unable to attend a banquet, but I am glad to have had the chance to assist. I will meet with the Minister this afternoon. Did Lt. White state a meeting place?" Savok asked.

"Indeed. She has asked to meet you at the Starfleet Research outpost in the Kendra Province." T'kella replied. Savok nodded, and begun his breakfast, knowing he had a very long day ahead of him. He knew the Minister would want to go on for hours, but Savok preferred scientific research over soil samples, although he wouldn't state this publicly.

As Savok entered the small research outpost, he was warmly greeted, and offered any refreshments, as he often was. He declined the kind offerings, and was asked to go to a meeting room. As soon as he entered the room, Savok's senses became acutely aware that something was very wrong. There was no one in the room: Merely a comfortable chair, and a viewscreen. He went to the door, but found it locked. He removed a small, personal transporter, and prepared to use it, when the screen came to life. Things started to make a little sense at that point. "I see that your flair for the dramatic has not changed much since we last spoke, six years, four months, two weeks and one day ago." Savok said.

A voice came over the comm system before the the screen slowly turned on. Crackles of interference showed the transmission was slightly degraded, no doubt as a result of encryption algorythems. "Of course Savok, its one of my specialities. Few people realise what I actually get up to." The face of Commander Jaca Traylor appeared. Officially he was the Admirals Aide. Unofficially, no one exactly knew what he did. "I hope T'kella is well." He said to the Vulcan man.

"She is, thank you for asking." Savok replied, taking a seat and not even bothering to ask how he knew T'kella was with him. He was, after all, a very resourceful man. "And yourself? Are you well?" He asked. Somehow, Savok already knew the answer, and that there was something that he needed help with. After all, Savok doubted Jaca had gone to all this trouble to simply say hello.

"I have been better." Jaca replied with a solemn look. "I have new orders, your previous orders have been rescinded. Per Starfleet Intelligence regulations, standard containment protocols are in effect. You will contact no one, about this change of order. I regret this includes T'kella for the time being." He looked apologetic, as he said this. He tapped a few keys on his PADD. "I am forwarding you a requisition order for a runabout, docked on board the USS Agamemnon, in orbit of Bajor. You are to proceed to the Gamma Quadrant. Upon completion of transit through the wormhole, you are to proceed to the coordinates attached to the requisition and await further instructions."

Savok frowned. "Previous Orders? I will assume, for the moment, you have forgotten that I retired from service over fifty years ago. I will also assume that the reason you have contacted me is because of a serious problem. I will tell her I am leaving Bajor for a time, but I must ask Jaca, why now? How serious is this problem that you have called upon me?" Savok asked.

"I am not answering any questions over a subspace channel. Needless to say it is serious enough to warrant the secrecy. How long will it take you to make the arrangements?" Jaca asked.

"I will leave within the hour. I must gather my belongings, and will follow your request." Savok said, standing up. "Will I see you there?"

"You will. You will report to Captain Jacob Lambert. I don't know him that well, but Vadosia does and trusts him implicitly. He will inform you of what is going on."

Savok nodded. "Very well. I shall see you there." Savok said, his concern rising. There was obviously something big happening, and Savok knew that if an old officer like him was needed, then he would be there. He knew his next task was to return home, prepare himself and then let T'kella know he would be away for some time. He just hoped that whatever the problem was, he would be able to assist in some way.
