Mission: Episode 3 - Winds of Change
Location: USS Unification - Main Sickbay
Timeline: Day 30 - 1400

The nurse cringed a Glorrana berated her. "If I told you once, I've told you a million times, DO NOT SYNC THE TRICORDERS TO A MASTER CONTROL!!" The young nurse was nearly in tears at that point, and Gloranna took a deep breath before continuing. "Now, I am going to show a little faith in you. I want every medical tricorder on this ship re-calibrated, that will be your job." She paused as the nurse mumbled a response and began to scurry away, "And take some of the new med-techs with you, I expect you to be done by this time tomorrow!"

Gloranna did not pay attention to the departing nurse, instead she hurried to her office and sank into her chair. She was stressed, and as a doctor it would be so easy to prescribe herself something, instead she turned to the replicator, "Orange Pekoe tea, on ice, two sugars." It was an Earth drink that one of her instructors had introduced her to. She took the glass from the replicator, took a sip, closed her eyes, and began her telepathic exercises while she waited for the Captain to show.

Jacob walked through the door into the sickbay. With the ship almost fully crewed, the medical staff were going through all the physicals. Of course there were a lot more counsellors on board, given all those that lost friends on the old Unification. Naturally the Captain of a starship should set an example. Which is what he kept telling himself as he walked to sickbay.

"Lieutenant Kaire?" He called out, hoping the new Medical officer was within ear shot.

Gloranna had nearly finished her exercises when she sensed a new presence, one with an air of authority, enter Sickbay. She carefully lowered her mental shields and reached out to lightly probe the presence. It only took a moment for her to realize that it was Captain Lambert and withdraw her probe. She heard his muffled inquiry as she straightened her uniform.

"Coming Captain," she called as she exited her office and gestured to a bio-bed, "If you will please have a seat I will try to get this over with quickly...and painlessly as possible," she added with a slight smirk.

"Nice to see a doctor with a sense of humour. Lets hope Starfleet's faith in you is not misplaced. How are you finding it aboard so far Lieutenant?" Jacob asked.

"Well enough, all things considered," Said Gloranna as she gathered a few medical instruments and placed them on a cart. "Getting my medical staff into shape will take some time, many of the new and replacement staff act like they have never been aboard a ship before..."

Gloranna lowered her mental shield in the hopes of catching a small fragment of emotion from the captain, if not she would continue to pry through the entire physical. She had read the reports and could empathize with what the captain must be feeling.

Gloranna synced the tricorder to the biobeds scanners before taking a preliminary reading of the Captains vitals, "So, Captain, any physical aches, pains, stiffness..?"

"No more than the usual aches and pains of being Captain." He smiled to the Doctor. "In all seriousness, no, nothing really stands out."

"Mmm, good." Gloranna stopped for a moment to signal a nearby nurse, "Nurse, get a sample of the Captains blood, I want full spectrum of tests." She turned back to the Captain and continued her scan, "No worries sir, better to be safe than sorry."

"Im not worried. I've had more on my mind that a few blood tests here and there." Jacob replied.

Quickly, Gloranna finished her scan. "It's more that a few things, Captain," she said as she closed the tricorder, "one does not have to be telepathic to sense the stress and emotion radiating from you. Would you care to talk about it?"

"I would love to, but alot of it is classified. Though I appreciate the offer. I do talk to the Admiral every now and then, and that works for me."

Gloranna grabbed an old reflex hammer from the cart and thumped the captains knee, slightly harder than was necessary, "Reflexes good. Very well Captain, I will trust you and if you need an ear you know where to come."

"I know, and I appreciate it Doctor. I trust you have what you need? I have some duties I need to attend to." Lambert asked.

"Very well, Captain,"{ she stepped aside to allow him to pass, "i will be in touch when I get the results of your blood test."

Gloranna watched him walk out of sickbay and shook her head. "As usual, the Captain is most difficult," she said under her breath.
