Mission: Episode 2 - Whispers in the Clouds
Location: USS Cassiopeia - Battle Bridge
Timeline: Day 2 - 1500

Deep inside the Cassiopeia a man in civilian clothes sat alone on the battle bridge which was lit only by the control panels and a soft, red light. The console screens were more active than usual with the virus running its rampage through the control system. He wore black pants with a number of pockets rivaled only by his dark grey/green jacket both of which were rumpled and worn. His tan hands were resting on the phaser rifle in his lap as he sat idly watching.

"Computer, start an audio-only log for personnel number zero nine zero, five four one eight two. Store the file on the local battle bridge computer only." The system beeped in acknowledgement. "Encrypt with level five authorization." This was met with a less agreeable tone which was in turn met with an eye roll. "Encrypt with a level four authorization." The computer supposed this was acceptable and generated an empty file to record into, logged only under a serial number.

Welcome to the battle bridge. If you're from Starfleet perhaps you've found my body somewhere in here and this log is for you. If you aren't, well I suppose the same message applies.

I boarded the USS Cassiopeia several days ago while it was in port, but don't bother checking the manifest. I'm not on it. Before boarding my CO met with the Captain to inform her of my being here, in turn I was given the location of the quarters in which I'd be locking myself until the rendezvous with the Unification. I made my way on board with... I used acceptable means to board the Cassiopeia the night before her departure unannounced.

Nothing of importance occurred until, what I know now was a virus, hit the ship. I remained in the quarters through several power fluctuation and numerous other system failures until I detected phaser fire outside. Once it had subsided I exited my quarters with a phaser rifle and moved to the nearest Jeffery's tube which was across the hall and down only a few meters. From there I made my way undetected to the battle bridge.

I was surprised by the ease at which I moved undetected until arriving here where I discovered the virus had shut down internal sensors. This is also how I presume I've remained undetected for about an hour. From the actions I can observe here I am presuming the crew has been mostly killed or incapacitated. Long range sensors are also offline with short range operating now at minimum strength while occasionally dropping offline. There are no signs of Federation vessels.

I will update this log in an hour with situation changes.

Time: 1600

Update.

I've been thoroughly locked out of any functioning systems, though the feed from the bridge still seems to be working perfectly. I suspect that's because the intruders either don't know about the battle bridge or don't think anyone is down here. None of the systems have been brought back online as of yet, though forcefields and life support are still fully functional. I was able to see the short range sensors picking up a vessel about a half hour ago, but due to the lack of power and lockout I wasn't able to tell anything about it. It could be the source of the current hostiles on board, though I have no information to base this guess off of.

I ventured a short way out to attempt some recon but was forced to return after being nearly being discovered twice, and I didn't even get a look at them. Lacking orders and information about the situation I've decided to remain here and monitor what I can of the situation until which time they attempt to enter the battle bridge or internal sensors come online. Should either of these things happen... that's why I've created this log.

Once again, I will updated this log in an hour with situation changes.
