Kiean Vox strode into the packed mess hall and made his way to the replicator.
"Andorian kal'ach, cold." Kiean picked up the large portion of andorian stew and made his way to find a free table. Spotting a tall pair of blue antennae, he made his way across the mess hall.
An andorian with unusually long antennae was sitting at a table for two, wolfing down his 'bacon'.
"This seat taken?"
The ensign waved for him to take a seat without looking up from his food.
"long time since I've seen a fellow blueskin, especially one from shraa'nien."
He looked up from his food.
"How do you know that?" He asked, genuinely astounded.
Kiean smiled, " lived in Shraa'nien for four years. By the way, I'm Kiean Vox, chief of Ops." Kiean extended his hand, palm down, in the Andorian fashion.
"Aillen Rashaan, engineering." He said, putting his hand under Kiean's
" so, you just out of the academy?" Aillen asked, getting back into his food.
"Nope, rejoined when the dominion invaded betazed. Unfortunately, I didn't get my rank back." Kiean said, taking a mouthful of his breakfast. "And you?"
"Just graduated, this is my first assignment."
"Bit old for a new recruit aren't you?" Kiean asked, realising that Aillen was just a little younger than he was.
" the imperial guard didn't appeal to me anymore so I joined starfleet."
"That's what they all." Kiean stated, raising an eyebrow.
"Alright, the imperial guard was a little tough."
Kiean finished his andorian breakfast and stood up.
"Gotta go, see ya later."
"Daal shraan, Kiean Vox."
"Daal shraan."
