First assignment

Mission: Episode 2 - Whispers in the Clouds
Location: Captain's ready room
Timeline: Day 1 - 0900

Kiean Vox lay on his bunk, mulling over the days events. Although he'd been on a starship before as a cadet, this was his first proper assignment. The transport flight had been unaventful, full of cadets and ensigns on their way to a first or second assignment. The rest of the day went in a blur, his mind focused on making a good impression on the captain and the senior staff. after being assingment his quarter, which he'd share with another ensign from engineering. Vox later made his rounds to the transporter rooms and stellar cartography. it was only now, lying in his quarters that he realised where he was. He was in a starship, thousands of light years from his home on andoria. Kiean Vox felt, for the first time in his life, truly free.
Then the door chimed. The door hissed open and in walked a vulcan. Kiean groaned softly.
'i assume you are my roomate.'
'you assume correctly.' Kiean replied, knowing he would have to put up with his 'logic'.
'My name is A'tell and yours is Kiean Vox, an andorian with a Aenar mother.' said the vulcan, still standing next to hhis bunk.
'how do you know that?' Kiean asked, suprised.
'it would be logical to research your roomate if you are to spend your entire posting with them.' his voice utterly expressionless.
Kiean collapsed back on his bunk.
'I hope you're not going to spend all night meditating or something, those candles annoy me.'
'do you have a synase problem? perhaps you should see the doctor.'
Kiean said nothing, staring up at the celing above him.
'it should be an interesting cultural experience to live with an Andorian, i have never had the chance to study your species' culture.'
'look, this is all very interesting but i have a busy day tomorrow so would you please shut up!' he said, starting to get irritated.
'very well, i look forward to increasing my understanding of your culture in the future.'
'yes, now shut up.'
'i will meditate now. computer, dim lights.'
Kiean groaned, so much to the new adventure.
