Episode 1B - Welcome Aboard Reboot
Location: Bridge, USS Unification
Timeline: Day 1 - 1315
Roebuck laid on his back, working on the Tactical station. While it wasn’t a high priority at the moment, he wanted to make sure the safeties for the weapons systems were engaged. The last thing he wanted, or the ship needed, was for power to be brought back online to the weapons and Ka-BOOM!
“Sir…did you see that Orion? Must be the new XO, she met with the Captain and…”
“Crewman…what’s that Orion have to do with verifying the power flow to the Tactical Station?” Roebuck replied to the Security Crewman that was assisting him.
“Umm, nothing sir, I just a…”
“Stow it.” He paused a moment, finishing up the work. “All right, what’s our status?” Truth was, Roebuck did notice her, what warm blooded male wouldn’t? Still, he knew there was work to be done.
“Power is nominal, all safeties are engaged sir.” The Crewmen then looked over at Roebuck as he stood up next to the Crewmen.
“Phasers showing offline, torpedoes are secured, launchers offline. Good.” He logged out of the station, then picked up a PADD.
“Head down to Engineering, see if they could use a hand with anything.” The young crewmen nodded and headed for the turbolift, hopefully it would take him where he needed to go…or at least close by. Roebuck took a seat at Tactical to finish up his report to the Captain.
Along with the new XO, he had also noticed another new Officer meet with the Captain, a Marine. Most likely the new Marine CO. He pulled up her name and sent Croft a message, a request for a meeting to discuss ship Security Procedures. After all, on most vessels he’d serviced on, the Chief of Security and Marine CO often times worked together to ensure the safety of the crew…aboard ship and ashore.
After sending the message, Jonathan Roebuck took a deep breath, then walked over to the Bridge replicator and ordered a raktijno. The replicator beeped, normally, but instead of the warm Klingon coffee, it spit out cold Andorian Ale…minus the mug.
Roebuck quickly tapped the cancel button, but the liquid kept pouring. He ripped off the panel and pulled relay. Sparks flew as the liquid stopped. All he could do was shake his head. Thankfully only a little made it to the deck. He set about cleaning up the mess before he would start work on his next task.
