Episode 4 - Parallels
Location: Unification
Timeline: Following The Liaison Part 4
With the status of the Task Force as it were the need for increased security precautions was definitely there. She had already begun moving away people who hadn't been checked yet from vital stations for now however some general precautions had to be taken that she simply could not do on her own.
=A=Wright to Roebuck, please report to my office=A=
Roebuck tapped his commbadge, "Understood Ma'am...Sir. On my way."
Walt shook his head, 'smooth, real smooth' he thought to himself. What a great way to make a first impression aboard his new ship. Walt hadn't met anyone aboard the Unification yet, except his Brother who was now on his way to DS6 and his new assignment, and he'd already made a fool of himself.
It took Roebuck a few minutes to arrive outside the Colonel's Office and he tapped the chime before straightening his uniform.
As she heard the chime she would turn to the door. "Enter"
Walt entered the room and snapped to attention. He wasn’t sure if the Colonel expected it, but since she was a Marine, Roebuck figured he’d do as the Marines do until told otherwise. “Lieutenant Walter Roebuck reporting as ordered.” No ‘sir’ or ‘ma’am’ this time...he’d made enough of a mess with his slip of the tongue over the comm, there was no need for a repeat performance here.
Elena could definitely respect that the Lieutenant immediately stood at attention. It was one trait Starfleet Officers were more reluctant to do at times than Marines. "At ease Lieutenant. I don't think we have met yet. Welcome aboard"
Walt relaxed a little and let a shy smile cross his lips. “Thank you Colonel.” He glanced around the room for a moment before adding, “I’ve only had time to drop my things in my quarters and see my brother off, I haven’t had a chance to look over the ship’s Security personnel or the Tactical systems yet.”
Elena nodded "Ah yes, very understandable. In that case I won't keep you too long. Please sit"
Walt gave a respectful nod and took a seat. He eyed Colonel, her blonde hair. He was trying to get a sense of who her was, her personality, but he couldn't get a good read on her yet. Then again, Walt had already embarrassed himself good enough for today, so maybe he just needed to 'sit down, shut up, and listen'.
"I can't get into too many specifics but there is a certain security situation ongoing on the ship which you do need to be aware of. As a result of this I would like to have more security officers stationed at key areas of the ship. The bridge, engineering, weapons control and the list goes on. If need be your security teams may be reinforced by Marines if you feel you do not have enough staff" She said while taking a seat herself.
"Understood. I'll look over the personnel and have teams assigned within the hour." He'd of hoped for more time to get to know his new Security personnel, but that didn't seem possible now.
"Perfect, if you could send me a report as soon as you issue the orders that would be great, and once again welcome aboard" Elena said with a slight smile.
"Yes," he paused for a second, "ma'am. Thank you."
Walt then excused himself and headed for the Bridge to look over the ship's Security Personnel to get the teams assigned.
