Captain to Captain

Mission: Episode 3 - Winds of Change
Location: USS Unification
Timeline: Day 16 - 1500

Jacob sat in his ready room. It was one of the first rooms that had been refitted after the Cass had returned to DS11. He had spent the last week and a half working from either his ready room or his office in his quarters. There was so much paperwork that had to be done given the extent of the damage to the Cassiopeia, and the amount of crew transfers. He was just lucky to have Elena on board. Lieutenant Colonel Elena Wright had been reassigned after Aztala's injury, and had taken on the XO role quite well.

He was finally starting to get through a bulk of the transfers. The new marine detachment had arrived too. He hadn't always been a fan of marines on board starships, but after spending a few weeks with Colonel Wright, he had definitely grown accustomed to have them around. Lets meet the new MCO he thought to himself.

"Lambert to Captain Usmanova, please report to my ready room."

Anna was in the middle of putting a squad through their paces when the call came. She quickly ordered the LT to take over and headed directly to the ready room, despite being in combat training gear and a bit sweaty. Arriving at the door she tapped the chime and entered when called.

"Captain Usmanova reporting." She said coming to a stop a metre from the Captain's desk.

"At east Captain, have a seat." He gestured towards the couch against the wall as he stood up from his desk to sit on the other couch opposite. "How are you finding it so far? I know most of your company is on board now. I would like to meet with your platoon leaders at some point.

"Of course sir, we're settled in and have already begun familiarizing ourselves with the ship. We should be ready for anything by the time we ship out." She replied taking the seat.

"We are expected to leave DS11 within the week. Hopefully there won't be much need for you, but with the new threats you may have your work cut out." He paused and looked to the replicator. "Would you like something to drink?"

"We'll be ready, no sir, I'm good thank you." She said, adjusting her jacket slightly.

"So Anastasia," he made a point of using her first name. Hopefully this would relax her somewhat. "What was your last posting?"

"Previously I was IO with the 13th Expeditionary Brigade, mainly operating in the quadrant. Before that I served as a liaison on Councillor Yee'qoura's staff." She replied.

"Do you have much combat experience?"

Anna grinned to herself, "Yes Sir, not to worry."

"Well hopefully you wont have to worry about it. But you never know." Jacob wondered if the Marine had anything further to say?

"Very good sir, is there anything else?" She said.

"No. Dismissed." Replied Jacob.
