Looking Ahead

Posted on Thu Jul 11th, 2013 @ 3:15am by Lieutenant Walter Roebuck & Captain Jacob Lambert

Mission: Episode 2 - Whispers in the Clouds
Location: Bridge/Captain's Ready Room
Timeline: Day 2 - 0610

Roebuck had heard the Captain’s announcement that the ship was changing course. He wondered if the Galavant had been located, or heard from.

He scanned ahead, on the Unification’s new course, but nothing was on sensors at this time. He paused for a moment, taking a breath, then got up from his seat at Tactical and walked over to the Captain’s Ready Room and pressed the door buzzer.

"Please come in." He wondered who it was. He had only mentioned the course change a few moments ago.

Roebuck walked in, head up and shoulders back. He stood in front of the Captain's desk, "Thank you sir."

He paused a moment before making a brief report, "I've scanned ahead on our new course, there's nothing on sensors at this time." He paused again before asking, "Has the Galavant been located Captain? I mean no disrespect in asking, but at Security Chief I want to be able to ensure the ship and crew's safety."

Jacob smiled. It was nice to see someone so concerned about the ship for a change. "The Galavant has yet to be located. We will, however, be rendezvousing with the Cassiopeia. They will be taking the lead with this one, and we will be providing support. They are supposed to be there within the next 30 minutes or so. Keep sensors locked on that location." He paused for a moment before revealing something else. He needed to keep this quiet, at least for now. "One other thing Lieutenant. There are some rumours at HQ saying there is some sort of group building their strength in the area. That's the reason we are becoming support for the Cassiopeia.

Jonathan nodded. He wasn't happy about taking the ‘support’ role. The Unification was already working to find the Galavant and they were they more tactically capable vessel. Still, orders were orders.

“Understood sir.”

Roebuck gave a respectful nod before returning to the Bridge. Upon taking his seat at Tactical, he ran another sensor sweep of the new course. After a few moments, a vessels appeared, it was the Cassiopeia. Roebuck tapped the comm-button on his console, “Bridge to Captain, I've scanned the rendezvous coordinates, but the Cassiopeia doesn't appear on the sensors sir.”

Maybe they found something Jacob thought to himself. "They might still be out of sensor range. Keep me informed. Lambert out."

"Aye sir." Roebuck replied over the comm.
